The Horizon Fitness EX-44 Elliptical ($1,199) offers a full 20 resistance levels and 10 preset programs, with the added convenience of telemetric heart rate and rubberized footpads and wider handgrips for enhanced comfort. There are even speakers and a workout calendar in the console to keep you moving and motivated.
The PST 6 ($1,499) is a quiet and sturdy treadmill, offering speeds up to 12 mph and inclines up to 12 percent. Contact heart-rate monitors are located conveniently on the handlebars.
