Horizon Treadmill “Top 5” Finalist for Sports Product of the Year

DEFOREST, Wis. (March 8, 2006) – Horizon Fitness’ WT 950 Wireless Pedometer Treadmill emerged as a Top Five finalist for the – Sports Product of the Year award. This prestigious award, which is sponsored by Sports Edge magazine, recognizes the most innovative new products introduced in the sporting goods industry each year.

The Sports Product of the Year Award winner will be announced in late April after a nationwide pool of consumer and trade media cast their votes. Horizon’s WT 950 joins other finalists including: Never Flat Basketball by Spalding; Numetrex Sports Bra by Textronics; Wego Kite Tube by Sportsstuff and Center G by Keys Fitness Products.

The WT 950 is a wireless pedometer treadmill that actually gives the user “credit” for steps taken throughout the day. To operate the system, a user wears a wireless pedometer during the day, which comes with the treadmill. At the end of the day, the user wirelessly transmits his or her steps to the treadmill. The treadmill then calculates the steps needed to reach a daily fitness goal and adjusts the workout to compensate for steps taken throughout the day.
