Bend, OR (October 9, 2019)Hydro Flask, the award-winning leader in high-performance, insulated stainless steel flasks and soft good innovations, a Helen of Troy Limited (NASDAQ, NM: HELE) company, is honored to award more than $103,000 in charitable contributions to three local beneficiaries of its annual Parking Lot Sale event, held last month at the company’s Bend, Ore. headquarters.

Open to the surrounding Central Oregon community, the September 24 sale featured Hydro Flask overstock and discontinued items alongside lightly scratched and dented or unused return merchandise. The event drew over 1,500 attendees between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., generating over $103,000 in Hydro Flask sales.

One hundred percent of these proceeds were divided equally among the brand’s three non-profit partners: Central Oregon Trail Alliance, Oregon Adaptive Sports, and Camp Tamarack. Each was selected by Hydro Flask employees in a company-wide nomination and voting process. The contribution marks a significant increase over last year’s total of just over $79,500.

“We are thrilled to support our local non-profit organizations and the important work they do to preserve and enrich the outdoor experiences within our Central Oregon community,” says Indigo Teiwes, senior corporate responsibility manager at Hydro Flask. “This partnership was truly the Hydro Flask staff’s choice, reflecting our love for spending time outdoors while perfectly aligning Hydro Flask’s mission to inspire heathier, happier, more sustainable lives for everyone through our charitable giving program Parks for All.”

Hydro Flask launched its charitable grant and advocacy initiative Parks For All in January of 2017 to help ensure access to clean, well-maintained public lands and green spaces in the U.S. and beyond. Through the program, Hydro Flask has donated over 35,000 bottles and made cash awards totaling more than $961,000 to 65 non-profit organizations whose missions align with working to develop, restore and preserve public parks and green spaces globally.

“Oregon Adaptive Sports is truly a community-based organization that relies on the support of hundreds of volunteers and donors each year,” says executive director Pat Addabbo. “Being a beneficiary of the Hydro Flask Parking Lot sale will have a dramatic impact on expanding our program capacity to continue providing access for individuals with disabilities to experience the great outdoors of Central Oregon.”

The Hydro Flask September parking lot sale marked the sixth event of this magnitude for the company. Hydro Flask also partnered with two Bend-based brands to organize the event – Ruffwear performance dog gear and outdoor subscription box company Cairn, Inc. –both of which also donated proceeds to nonprofits. Ruffwear raised $15,000 for multiple local, dog-adoption focused nonprofits, and Cairn donated $10,000 to the Conservation Alliance.

Teiwes notes: “Along with supporting our charitable partners, it’s great to give back to our hometown fans who have helped Hydro Flask get to where we are today by giving them an opportunity for great deals to stock up their gear closets, do some early holiday shopping and enjoy a fun afternoon with their fellow Bend neighbors.”

Dedicated to uniquely refreshing experiences, innovative design and an unparalleled user experience, Hydro Flask continues to receive accolades for its insulated products. Hydro Flask has been the recipient of several Red Dot, GOOD DESIGN™ and iF Design Awards, including the coveted iF gold award. The Company has grown to become the number one overall American water bottle brand in Sporting Goods and Outdoor, according to Sports One Source SSI reporting.
