Hyland’s Sponsors 27th Annual Huntsman World Senior Games and its World-Class Senior Athletes

October 4, 2013 – St. George, UT – This year’s Huntsman World Senior Games run from October 7 – 19 in St. George, Utah. Over 10,000 athletes from around the world are expected to participate in 122 events. At age 62, NZ Bryant can’t compete in the Olympics, but the sprinter from Orchard Lake, Michigan broke an age-class world record for the 50m at the Huntsman World Senior Games in 2012. The event, held annually in St. George, Utah, brings top athletes age 50 and older together to compete in 26 different sports ranging from track and field and swimming to “pickleball,” a paddle sport hybrid of badminton, wiffle ball and tennis that is rapidly growing in popularity throughout the United States.

In addition to athletic competition, the goals of the Games include promotion of world unity and health and wellness. Since the first Games in 1987, an estimated 150,000 athletes from 66 countries have participated.
