Hyperlite Mountain Gear hires athlete ambassador Lizzy Scully as Marketing Manager

March 19, 2015: Hyperlite Mountain Gear, a Maine-based company that sells high-end, durable and waterproof backpacks, shelters, and tarps, recently hired athlete ambassador and long-time communications expert Lizzy Scully as their new marketing manager.

“Her ties within the outdoor industry and her extensive skillset make her the perfect choice for our growing team,” says CEO and founder Mike St. Pierre. “But, equally important, Lizzy travels light and fast in the mountains. Hyperlite Mountain Gear believes efficiency and enjoyment in the outdoors results from stripping your pack of every inessential item. Lizzy embodies our ultralight philosophy on her adventures and in her life.”

Over the last 15 years, Scully has gone on five major rock climbing expeditions, putting up first ascents in Canada and Greenland. Plus, she gleaned a master’s degree in communications, she has worked with dozens of outdoor industry companies doing public relations, social media and digital marketing, and she has written or edited various print and digital publications.

“This is my dream job,” Scully said. “I’ve explored the world’s most beautiful places, and lived on 2000- to 4500-foot walls for days at a time. But at 41, I’m psyched to settle down a bit. Really, I’m ready to utilize all my skills to make a difference for one progressive and inspiring company. I’m 100 percent behind Hyperlite Mountain Gear. Lizzy Scully has run a social media marketing business for the past four years. She moved to Maine from the Front Range of Colorado, where she was based for two decades.
