WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VT (March 31, 2011) — Prompted to take action by the horrible tragedy and devastation caused by the recent 9.0 earthquake and tsunami in Japan, Vermont-based companies Ibex outdoor clothing and Darn Tough Vermont are sending seven boxes (213 lbs.) of warm winter Ibex garments and 1,000 pairs of socks to the people of Japan.
The freezing winter weather in northern Japan further complicates the fact that more than 450,000 people have lost their homes and are living in temporary shelters.
You can help too. Send us your old warm winter clothing and any old Ibex garments, and we’ll donate it to the people of Japan.
Donation suggestions include baselayers, long sleeve shirts, jackets, pants, insulated layers, winter hats and gloves.
Ibex will collect donations from April 1 through May 31.
