Icebreaker Adds New Merino Socks and Accessories for Winter Warmth Merino pioneer turns up the heat with stunning new socks, hats, scarves and gloves for Fall/Winter 2014
Wellington, New Zealand (January 2014) – Icebreaker is warming up winter by extending its collection of soft, non-itch, premium merino socks and accessories.
New lightweight socks for hiking, skiing and everyday wear star in the merino specialist’s new collection. There are bold stripes and patterns in a high-energy seasonal color palette, as well as graphics inspired by nature, mountains and sports.
New Zealand-based Icebreaker has given its entire sock range a comfort upgrade by changing its yarn construction and knitting process.
The star of the sock collection are Icebreaker’s first-ever graduated compression socks – the Lifestyle Compression Light and Ski+ Compression designed to give better performance and faster recovery time.
Other new socks include:
- Light and ultralight lifestyle socks, in crew, ¾ crew and over-the-calf heights
- Light and ultralight over-the-calf ski socks
- Light, medium and heavy crew hike socks
Built to last, Icebreaker merino socks are exceptionally durable and comfortable thanks to their blister-preventing smooth toe seam, breathable mesh zones, activity-specific cushioning, comofrt cuff and support features designed to give the perfect fit.
In accessories, Icebreaker has greatly increased its headwear collection to give its customers a hat for every adventure. Top styles include the Realfleece Explore Hat, with visor and earflaps; the cute Boreal Hat, in chunky knit cable with a pom-pom; and the on-trend Iris Hat.
Many of Icebreaker’s new hats have been designed to be worn with its new scarves, such as the Legacy Scarf, the Boreal Scarf and the Iris Scarf.
Beautiful new glove styles include the striped Terra Glove, with index finger and thumb tips that allow wearers to use a touchscreen.
Rob Achten, Icebreaker Creative Director and Vice President of Product, says there’s something for everyone in the Fall/Winter 2014 collection.
“Icebreaker socks and accessories are ideal for colder weather because they’re warm but lightweight, are soft and non-itch against the skin, and breathe to prevent overheating and clamminess,” he says.
“Our socks stay warm when wet and resist odour for days – sometimes weeks. With our new comfort upgrade, they really are the most comfortable socks you’ll ever wear.”
Icebreaker’s lifetime money-back guarantee gives customers extra reassurance that their merino wool socks will last the distance, whether they’re wearing them for sport, for travel or for work.
