December 17, 2021 (Santa Cruz, CA) – HitchFire, the creator of purpose-built hitch-mounted grills has teamed up with Ignik, the makers of environmentally thoughtful outdoor heating products, as their official partner for refillable propane tanks. The partnership was formed in recognition of HitchFire’s commitment to reducing the use of single use propane tanks and provide an easy and more cost-effective way for customers to power their hitch mounted grills. The Ignik refillable Gas Growler holds 4.5 liters of fuel, or over nine times the propane housed in the disposable cannisters and can be refilled at most propane filling stations.
“Ignik and Hitchfire formed a natural partnership. From our first conversation it was clear that we had common values, products that fit well together, and a lot of overlap in terms of customers,” said Graeme, founder & CEO, Ignik. “I look forward to seeing where these two brands go together, and we are glad to have Hitchfire’s support in the campaign to reduce waste and remove single-use propane bottles from our parks and landfills.”
HitchFire, created by the founders of Tepui rooftop tents, launched in 2020 with the Forge 15 model, named for its double high-output 7,500 BTU propane burners. Designed to be attached to vehicles with a standard 2” receiver and built on an articulating swing arm, the grill makes cooking quicker and cleaner than using your old camp grill. The hitch-mounted design keeps the mess out of your vehicle and saves valuable trunk space so you can pack more of the gear you need. With two side tables and integrated bottle opener, the grill is the perfect partner for your ski season bringing a whole new flavor to après ski. The Growlers can now be purchased as a standalone accessory or purchased as a bundle with the Forge 15 at HitchFire.com
Inspired by adventure, road trips, and the love of the outdoors, HitchFire leads a new category in hitch-based accessories. The rugged, hitch-mounted grills and accessories are purposed-built, made with the highest quality materials, and designed to withstand the roughest weather and toughest conditions for a world full of undiscovered trails and expeditions. It’s not just a grill, it’s Adventure Grilling™.
Our journey started on a family sailboat in the Arctic, where we saw the impact of climate change and human jetsam on the landscapes we love. We decided to “be the change” by creating products that actually work—and work for the planet. Today Ignik makes high quality, environmentally thoughtful heating products for the wilderness. We enable more folks to get outside earlier and remain outside longer. Ignik is a proud member of 1% for the Planet.
