With two days of the Show checked off, Day Three of the 2012 SIA Snow Show in Denver, Colorado, brought a weekend party vibe to the Show. Some attendees were recovering from the previous evening’s festivities, including the SIA Snow Fashion & Trends Show, while others were gearing up for another night on the town with industry friends.

Last night, with a light snow falling, the snow sports industry gathered at Red Rocks for the Winter on the Rocks concert to watch Common and Atmosphere run the stage in one of the country’s most beautiful amphitheaters. Icelantic Skis hosted the venue’s first-ever winter concert. Icelantic’s Sam Warren, came up with the idea while sitting at a bar during SIA Show in Las Vegas several years ago. He’d heard the Show might move to Denver, and said he would start a concert at Red Rocks if the Show really did move. Last night’s concert line-up included Atmosphere, Common, Grieves + Budo and Get Cryphy.

“Thx to all our amazing sponsors, artists, partners, friends and family 4 making last night become a reality! We love you all, #WOTR,” @Icey Lantic tweeted this afternoon.

Neff, Never Summer, Skullcandy and Pacifico threw their annual SnowDown party with performances by DJ Largechild, Mada, Foodchain, Vajra, Na Palm,Cavem Moetavation, Dilated Peoples, and Twista. With over 3,000 people in attendance along with a slew of industry reps and pro snowboarders, this year’s SnowDown was a night to remember. Earlier in the week, 686 along with Skullcandy, Electric and Grenade hosted their first ever “Lights Out” Charity Boxing Night, highlights included Johnny Gehris from Vestal and Bruce Beach from Electric in the industry heavy weight match. Proceeds from Lights Out will support SOS Outreach and Match One Foundation.

“Plenty of Pacifico made everyone more than happy at the SnowDown. It was definitely a night to remember, or to forget, depending on who you went home with — next year’s will definitely be a can’t miss party again,” said Namsense of Power Strip Marketing.

Snowboarding’s stars came out in force on Friday night, rocking The Fillmore Auditorium for the 13th Annual TW SNOW Riders’ Poll Awards Presented by New Era. Emcee GT and Signal’s Dave Lee presided over the biggest night in snowboarding as the best riders of 2011 took the stage to receive their awards. Winners of the Riders’ Poll Awards are determined by polling more than 100 professional snowboarders worldwide. Thousands of TransWorld SNOWboarding readers vote for the winners of the New Era Men’s and Women’s Readers’ Choice awards. Additional sponsors include Red Bull, Keystone Resort, Spy+, Zumiez, Chipotle, KRÜ 82 Vodka, and Oskar Blues Brewery.

“It was an awesome night – there were big hitters in the snowboard industry and good times all around,” commented Lauren Machen of Transworld Media.

At the end of Day 3, the winning design for the RECLAIM Project came from Paul Fronckowiak who studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and currently works and lives in Brooklyn. Paul will receive a coveted internship position at 686’s headquarters. The competition was stationed in the middle of the Snow Show’s snowboard section allowing for more interaction with the competitors’ mentors. The two other contestants participating were Jillian Miranda from Ohio and Jonathan Aguon from California.

“This second installment of the RECLAIM Project has been great,” said Michael Akira West, president and creative director at 686. “The contestants all did an amazing job and it was incredible to see the level of talent. Choosing a winner was difficult as all three designers brought something unique to the table. Congratulations goes to Paul for creating an inspiring design.”
