BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – March 15, 2006 – Three fitness industry veterans have further strengthened the rapidly growing commercial sales team at Octane Fitness, a leading manufacturer of multiple award-winning, premium elliptical cross trainers.

Ken Germano, the former president and CEO of the American Council on Exercise (ACE) in San Diego, Calif., is the new commercial sales manager for the West Coast and national accounts; David Corley, previously a regional sales manager at True Fitness Technology, Inc., O’Fallon, Mo., is the commercial sales manager for the central U.S. states; and Daniel Kennedy, most recently a regional sales manager at Precor, Inc., Woodinville, Wash., is the commercial sales manager for the East Coast and hospitality national accounts.

“As Octane’s commercial business has been expanding across the country, we are thrilled to bring on this talented group of experts to continue building relationships with and meeting the needs of our customers,” said Shawn Patton, the vice president of sales at Octane Fitness.

Ken Germano
Equipped with 28 years of experience in the fitness industry, Germano spent six years running ACE, the largest non-profit accredited certifier of fitness professionals in the world. Among his many achievements there, Germano founded Operation FitKids, a non-profit organization that provides physical education resources to children nationwide through in-kind and cash donations.

Previously, Germano was the co-founder and vice president of global sales for Reebok—Cross Conditioning Systems, in Aurora, Colo., where he helped develop, market and sell five cardiovascular fitness machines, including the Body Trec, which was the first total-body elliptical trainer. Germano also was instrumental in product development and commercial sales in several positions at Cybex International, Inc., Medway, Mass., and Life Fitness, Schiller Park, Ill.

He has been a member of the board of directors for the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, the California Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports and the AARP Products Advisory team.

David Corley
At True Fitness, Corley started as part of the company’s first commercial sales division in 1997. He spent nearly a decade as a regional sales manager in several territories throughout the U.S. and Canada, where he successfully expanded sales and distribution in each territory. Corley also led numerous new product introductions and created unique marketing campaigns throughout his regions. He managed more than 30 distributors and sold to national accounts, health clubs, government agencies and numerous vertical markets.
Prior to joining True Fitness, Corley served as the marketing manager for the inside sales division at Regions Bank, N.A., in St. Louis, and as inside sales manager for the Angelica Uniform Group, Inc., also in St. Louis.

Daniel Kennedy
At Precor, Kennedy achieved more than 100 percent of direct and dealer sales quota while overseeing 34 dealer sales representatives and managing direct sales to health clubs, YMCAs, JCCs and the hospitality market. In 2004, Kennedy received the Dealer Manager of the Year award.

Kennedy also spent more than five years as a commercial sales representative at Advantage Sport and Fitness, Inc., in Ithaca, NY, where he increased his territory quota by 600 percent and earned the company’s “Team Work” award in 1999. Prior, he served at the general manager of ABC Sport and Fitness Equipment, a retailer in Latham, NY, where he managed commercial and retail sales and service.
