The 2nd annual SIA On-Snow Demo/Ski-Ride Fest (Jan 31-Feb 1) at Winter Park Resort and Devil’s Thumb Ranch & Nordic Center is turning into a jam-packed two-day event. Hitting the slopes and trails with industry friends at the Demo will be the perfect transition from four days of meetings and product demos inside the Colorado Convention Center during the 2011 SIA Snow Show (Jan 27-30).

At Winter Park Resort, snow sports retailers and media will be testing out gear they just saw at the Show including ski, snowboard, AT, telemark and backcountry, while other shop staff and all Snow Show attendees can join-in the fun scheduled throughout the two-day Ski-Ride Fest.

“Last year’s On-Snow was great for POC. We had a great crowd both days, eager to try out new POC helmets and goggles. Retailers were really psyched on how easy it was to test everything on the slopes at Winter Park,” Erin Sullivan, POC Sports.

While Winter Park Resort will be base camp for all lift service testing at nearby Devil’s Thumb Ranch & Nordic Center there will be free cross country skiing, snowshoeing and complimentary refreshments, lunch and musical entertainment. Devil’s Thumb maintains beautifully groomed Nordic trails – perfect for experiencing the latest technology and taking in the majestic Colorado surroundings.

“The amount of equipment to ski at last year’s Nordic demo was amazing – definitely worth attending,” said Nate Harvey of Great Glen Trails, New Hampshire.

In addition to testing out the latest in equipment and accessories, attendees can hang with industry friends during parties, gatherings and events hosted by SIA and members including the Uphill/Downhill Challenge, Office Booyz & Girlz Competition, 2 Mile High BBQ at the Sunspot, receptions, parties and of course après happy hours.

The On-Snow Demo is being held in conjunction with the WWSRA (Western Winter Sports Representatives Association) Rocky Mountain Demo at Winter Park and CCSAA (Cross Country Ski Areas Association) for the Nordic portion of the Demo at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. Between both Winter Park Resort and Devil’s Thumb Ranch, more than 135 brands will participate at the industry only event.

New this year, WWSRA is adding an extra day to the demo, February 2; to further accommodate the reps and retailers in the Rocky Mountain Region. WWSRA is welcoming any registered Demo attendees to stay this third day to test out 2012 product.
