SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. – Sept. 10, 2010 – Interbike today announced the details of the Tour de Lake Mead, a 24-mile ride that takes participating Interbike attendees through Lake Mead National Park to the lake and back. The ride leaves from the Interbike OutDoor Demo location in Boulder City, Nevada on Sept. 21, 2010 at 8 a.m.

“Get a few cyclists together and they’ll make any ride into a race,” said Rich Kelly, Interbike communications manager and ride host. “Shimano’s Wayne Stetina is there every year pushing it at the front, but the majority of us turn the Tour de Lake Mead into a good time for a casual ride during the show on one of the many great new bikes on display.”

The Tour de Lake Mead gives attendees a chance to ride the latest bikes from OutDoor Demo exhibitors and network with fellow attendees, journalists, and exhibitors. It covers 24 miles of rolling hills overlooking Lake Mead. The return to the Demo site from the rest stop, which is sponsored by H2O Overdrive, is on a quality bike lane with a moderate climb.

A police escort will be provided at the beginning of the route where it is busy, and neutral tech support will be provided by Mavic.

Interbike encourages attendees to contact OutDoor Demo exhibitors before the show to reserve a demo bike for the Tour de Lake Mead. Attendees are also welcome to ride their own bikes.

A list of OutDoor Demo exhibitors is available at interbike.com. Attendees can sort the list by bike category to view a complete list of exhibitors that manufacture the type of bike they want to ride in the event.

Complimentary shuttle buses to OutDoor Demo for the Tour de Lake Mead will depart from the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas on Sept. 21 at 6:30 a.m. sharp.

Information about this and other Interbike events is available at interbike.com.
