Tahoe, CA. (August 2016) – Buttermilk Mountain Apparel, a new brand dedicated to delivering contemporary outdoor apparel for women, is coming to the trails, single track, skin track and mountain town near you. Officially launching today with its first line of women’s mountain bike apparel, Buttermilk is a design-driven brand crafting technical and beautiful apparel so women can focus on getting after it and having fun outdoors.
Buttermilk’s inaugural line consists of four carefully considered pieces: the WhitneyShort, the Buttermilk Chammy, the Solstice Snap Raglan and the Kiah Tee. The line is built around a focus on natural fibers, fun—yet wearable—colors and patterns, and the all-important-fit to deliver staples women will want to wear everyday. Designed for athletic women who won’t—and shouldn’t have to—compromise on styling, the Buttermilk difference is in the details
Weighing in at a mere 215 grams, the Whitney Short ($129) is made of a lightweight, durable Schoeller® fabric, giving the freedom of movement on the bike, while wicking moisture and repelling dirt andwater. The fit is long enough to wear with knee pads, but breathable enough for a long backcountry rides in the mid-summer heat. The easily accessible side zip-pocket is big enough to fit your iPhone 6+, sunglasses or an energy bar while the belt loops andgusseted crotch ensure perfect fit.
Pairing perfectly with the Whitney Short, the Buttermilk Chammy ($79) is crafted with silky, stretchy Swiss Schoeller® fabric that’s both breathable and wicks away moisture. These chammy shorts are designed with an extra-high waist and an athletic fit to serve the female rider who has struggled to find a go-to chammy. The Buttermilk Chammy also features an Italian-sourced chammy pad and thick elastic leg bands for long-lasting comfort, while the coral polka dots boost style points.
Buttermilk’s two tops, the Solstice Snap Raglan ($109) and the Kiah Tee ($69) are made of the finest 17.5 micron merino wool and blended with nylon for strength, breathability, and stink resistance. From chilly alpine mornings to windy afternoons on the ridgeline, the Solstice Snap Raglan was created to give you some added warmth without any added bulk. It features an extra-deep snap placket for a mix of styling and convenience. Meanwhile, the Kiah Tee is designed to seamlessly take you through the day, whether you’re mountain biking, hiking or lounging at the lake. With a flattering fit, thoughtful detailing, and performance, this tee is as at home on the trail as much as it is at the bar.
The complete line is available now at buttermilkapparel.com and in a travelling pop-up shop – a yellow and white 1962 Shasta Compact trailer – cruising around the Mountain West, Pacific coast and anywhere else that draws us in along the way.
