The Vettron is the first of its kind in multi-lens performance sunglasses with a SinglePivot Gate Hinge system which allows the user to lift and unfold half of the frame to release the lens from the frame channel. Optic Nerve founder and design director, Tom Fox, drew from engineering and artistic concepts to craft this unique lens-changing mechanism and integrate it into the aesthetic of the sunglasses. “The simplicity of the mechanism makes switching between the included bright-sun and low-light lenses effortless. The dexterity of the frame’s architecture makes for a compelling design with rich colorblocking on the hinged gates for personality and visual impact,” explains Fox.
Every individual aesthetic detail is expertly designed to supplement the whole. The base color, gate color, and lens mirror on each of the 5 color variations were thoroughly analyzed to create complementary combinations. Trendy earth tones, geometric temple design, and a subtle keyhole nose combine to create an ergonomic and forward thinking twist on the timeless retro-casual look.
Performance features include a hyrdophobic lens coating to repel water, sweat, oil, and dust and to enhance the lifetime of the lens. A 30 degree temple slope prevents frame/helmet contact and allows for maximum orbital wrap to keep the sunglasses securely in place. Rubberized temple tips and nose bridges also prevent them from sliding during activity. G850 nylon frame materials are durable, flexible, and derived from castor bean oil, a clean and renewable resource. Optional polarized lenses filter out 99% of reflected sun glare.
