Hydro-Photon, Inc., the leader in handheld UV water purifiers, is pleased to announce their latest product innovation, the SteriPEN AdventurerOpti. The AdventurerOpti uses a patent-pending optical eye to sense when the purifier is in the water and when it is not. The AdventurerOpti also features a frosted lamp cover that works with the optical eye to deliver a convenient, backup LED flashlight whenever you need one.
The AdventurerOpti, the smallest and lightest of all SteriPEN products, uses ultraviolet light to make safe drinking water in as little as 48 seconds by destroying viruses, bacteria and protozoa such as giardia and cryptosporidium. The insulating sleeve surrounding the SteriPEN AdventurerOpti UV lamp combined with the optical eye’s water detection capability allows purification in even the coldest snow melt.
As with all SteriPEN purifiers, using the AdventurerOpti is as easy as 1-2-3:
1. Press button to select volume to treat
2. Immerse lamp and optical eye sensor in clear water
3. Stir until green indicator light turns on (automatically timed for 48 seconds for 0.5 L or 90 seconds for 1 L). The long lasting UV lamp can provide 8,000 one-liter treatments.
The AdventurerOpti measures 6.1 inches and weighs 103g (3.6 oz.) with batteries. It uses two lithium CR123 batteries, included with purchase.
