INVISTA Introduces The High-Performance CORDURA® NYCO Knit

Ground-Breaking Material Features Superior Moisture Management Performance

WILMINGTON, DE – Participants in rigorous physical activities no longer have to choose between comfort and durability. INVISTA’s new CORDURA® NYCO knit boasts a high performance material that is abrasion resistant and specifically engineered to increase durability and strength in even the roughest of environments. Best of all, the unique moisture management properties of the CORDURA® NYCO knit allow outdoor enthusiasts the comfort of a durable, breathable knit.

By combining two popular materials, nylon and cotton, INVISTA has managed to create a revolutionary knit fabric that has superior moisture management performance – it dries two and a half times faster than a 100 percent cotton t-shirt. Working with convection and evaporation, the body’s two most powerful temperature regulating mechanisms, the CORDURA® NYCO knit provides unparalleled breathability and maximum comfort to wearers.

“We are proud to fulfill a longstanding need in the apparel market for a knit fabric that is tough enough for outdoor enthusiasts, athletes and anyone else who engages in rigorous physical activities,” explains Jon Heard, global business director of INVISTA’s nylon staple and government businesses. “Furthermore, the CORDURA® NYCO knit is as comfortable as it is durable, which is what truly distinguishes it as a remarkable product.”

In addition to its durability and moisture-management features, this new fabric also has inherent heat response properties. When exposed to high temperatures, the nylon fibers in the CORDURA® NYCO knit form gels and char around cotton, creating an entirely new fabric structure that does not melt. This unique characteristic coupled with outstanding moisture management makes this knit ideal for use in military, tactical, industrial petrochemical, oil and gas, chemical and other industries.

CORDURA® is the registered trademark of INVISTA for durable fabrics. Known for its resistance to abrasions, tears and scuffs, CORDURA® fabric is used in a wide range of products, including luggage, backpacks, boots, military wear and performance apparel. For more information, visit
