Orange County, CA – November 10, 2006 – With the recent introduction of a completely new line of Olympic bars, Iron Grip Barbell Company continues to improve upon their premium free weight line.
The new bars feature an innovative design and assembly method to achieve a new level of durability. Iron Grip’s engineering department has developed an entirely new method of manufacturing the bars’ critical sleeve and collar assembly. Their breakthrough design discards bolts, pins and other traditional methods of assembling bars. Instead, Iron Grip’s new proprietary design uses a unique retaining ring design to axially position the bar sleeve and attach it to the shaft.
Iron Grip also redesigned the sleeve and collar assembly, utilizing a swaging technique whereby precision-machined parts (in this case, the bar sleeve and collar) are joined under extremely high pressure to attach them together permanently. This method produces a sleeve-collar assembly that has proved stronger than welding, even under severe testing. In addition, the new Olympic bars now feature a combination of bushings and bearings to facilitate free and easy rotation of the sleeve.
This new bar line will continue to feature aircraft-quality Hard Chrome that meets military specifications for durability, and is the most hard-wearing coating available in an Olympic bar. The new bar line will also continue to feature Iron Grip’s patented six-sided bar collar, and the fine diamond knurling for which Iron Grip bars are well known.
Iron Grip’s new Olympic bar line is manufactured exclusively in their Santa Ana, CA factory, and consists of a 7′ Olympic bar, a 5′ Olympic bar, and a 54†EZ Curl bar. All bars carry a five year warranty against breakage.
