After months of preparation the Metanoia Team is now in Switzerland to continue filming of Jeff Lowe’s Metanoia in the Swiss Alps. After getting settled in the beautiful chalets provided to us by sponsor Griwarent, the Metanoia Team has begun to recreate scenes from Jeff Lowe’s 9 harrowing days on the North Face of the Eiger in the winter of 1991.
Josh Wharton, a Mammut Athlete, will climb some of Jeff Lowe’s famous route, as Chris Alstrin films Josh in key scenes from Jeff Lowe’s solo first ascent of Metanoia on the notorious North Face. Ropes have been set and filming begins today. Jeff and Greg Lowe will film the scenes near the Hinterstoisser Traverse from a helicopter today!
This film explores the incredible life and climbs of Jeff Lowe, the visionary alpinist who continues to be the adaptable man he set out to be in his youth. Jeff’s indomitable spirit and incredible optimism both on and off the mountains epitomize a philosophy that celebrates life and the outdoors. Metanoia explores these themes in the iconic setting of the Swiss Alps.
