Jeff Lowe Wheels on Down to Ouray Ice Festival

The ice in Ouray will present a whole new challenge for the festival’s creator, Jeff Lowe. Cruising amongst friends and favorite haunts in his wheelchair, Jeff won’t be deterred by icy pathways to watch the competitions from an altogether different perspective.

No longer setting the routes or ascending the ice as the master, Jeff will be promoting and seeking sponsorship for his new documentary film Jeff Lowe’s Metanoia, the inspirational true story of love, survival, a pathological optimist, his indomitable spirit and a wheelchair.

Jon Krakauer will narrate as the film explores the incredible life and climbs of this legendary alpinist and ice climber, who continues to be the adaptable man he set out to be in his youth. Discover what lies beneath Jeff’s high adventure lifestyle and how years of climbing and living in the present moment, have prepared him to adapt to and live gracefully with disabilities he could never have imagined.

Cordell Wolking and Chris Ford of the Metanoia Film Team will be at the Ice Festival Friday and Saturday to film some of the events.
