Jim Bridwell, legendary pioneer of the climbing sport we know today, reconfirmed his place in history by winning Jetboil’s Big Wall Cook-Off event at the Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City.
The event, which took place at the Rock & Ice Climber’s Ranch, pitted four of the world’s top big wall climbers in a head-to-head cooking contest using Jetboil’s Personal Cooking System (PCS) featuring their new-for-07 Hanging Kit accessory. The new Hanging Kit is compatible with the original PCS, the Group Cooking System (GCS) and the brand new FluxRing® Fry Pan.
Competition was intense, with Conrad Anker, Pete Takeda, Ivo Ninov and Bridwell all battling for first place and a $500 purse to be donated to the winner’s organization of choice.
Jim Bridwell has chosen The Access Fund to be the recipient of the $500 prize, half of which will be donated by Jetboil, and half by Verde PR & Consulting of Durango, Colo. The Access Fund is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the climbing environment for rock climbing, mountain climbing and bouldering.
