La Sportiva, a leader in outdoor footwear, today announced that Jonathan Lantz will be the new president of La Sportiva, N.A., Inc., La Sportiva’s North American distributor, replacing Colin Lantz.

La Sportiva, a leader in outdoor footwear, today announced that Jonathan Lantz will be the new president of La Sportiva, N.A., Inc., La Sportiva’s North American distributor, replacing Colin Lantz.
After fifteen years with La Sportiva, Colin (Jonathan’s brother) is leaving to pursue a new business opportunity in the solar energy industry. Jonathan, who has been with La Sportiva since 1996, is leaving his current position as La Sportiva’s marketing director to assume the president’s responsibilities.

Inc. “After our most successful year ever and a 30% and 35% increase in turnover in each of the last two years respectively, La Sportiva is in the midst of a strong growth phaseâ€, Lantz said. “We’re dominant in rock climbing and mountaineering footwear and this strength is leveraging our growth strategy in the trail running and hiking categories. An aggressive plan of expansion into hiking and trail running has set us on a course to become the dominant outdoor footwear brand while retaining our core authenticity, which is so important to us and our customers. In 2006, La Sportiva S.p.A., the Italian parent company and manufacturer, and La Sportiva N.A., Inc. merged. The two entities joined forces in a cooperative effort to strengthen the La Sportiva brand, ushering in a worldwide product line and branding message.
Additionally, La Sportiva also has named Mark Day as Vice President of Sales and Kellie Beran as Vice President of Finance and Operations.
