Yet another round of standing ovations greeted Jeff Lowe and Connie Self as the credits rolled at the sold out Centennial Theater in North Vancouver, BC on February 14. One week later Jeff Lowe’s Metanoiawas given the Jury’s Award at closing night of the 9 day Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival! Once again the audience stood to honor their esteemed tribe member who led the way with Waterfall Ice Climbing, Modern Mixed Climbing, the Tuber belay device and the first ever softshell jacket in the out door industry – the Diamond Pullover by Latok and so much more. Jeff brought the first Sport Climbing Championships to the US and created the Ouray Ice Festival. Today Jeff leads the way once again as he embraces a new reality in a wheelchair. The film inspires and motivates audiences with a look at Lowe’s spectacular climbing achievements and his ongoing personal quest to learn about himself and his environment.
The long awaited film, narrated by Jon Krakauer, will Premier in the United States for the first time on March 7 at 5pm at the Boulder International Film Festival. Featured as a Colorado film there will be a reception following the film at the Boulder High School Cafetieria with silent and live auctions.
