PlumRiver LLC is pleased to announce that Kay Henry has joined the Company as Business Development Advisor.

Henry is one of the original founders of Mad River Canoe Company and was the company’s President until its sale in 1998 to Confluence Watersports. She then went on to co-found the non-profit Northern Forest Canoe Trail, a long distance watertrail that provides recreational access for paddlers and economic development opportunities for businesses throughout the Northeast region.

Whitney Johnson, Principal at PlumRiver states, “We are really pleased to have Kay join the team. PlumRiver has built a team of executives who have solid industry experience, allowing us to understand the special needs of the Outdoor, Snowsports, Cycling and Footwear industries. Kay understands these businesses and brings insight into the growing Watersports segment as well.

According to Henry, “PlumRiver has developed advanced, configurable software tools that work seamlessly with a company’s existing ERP system. As the former CEO of Mad River Canoe Company and past board member of OIA, I recognize the advantages and look forward to introduce the possibilities of eCommerce, and PlumRiver’s innovative solutions, to my many colleagues and friends in the industry.”

Henry is currently a partner in Outdoorsense Ltd, a consulting business to the outdoor industry and is a former board member of American Rivers, the New England Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and the Outdoor Industry Association. She currently serves on the boards of the Rubenstein School of the Environment at The University of Vermont, the Northern Forest Canoe Trail and the Maine Island Trail Association. Kay was selected as one of LL Bean’s first Outdoor Heroes in 2008 for the breadth of her work in northern New England on behalf of recreational paddling.
