KEEN Inc. Presents ‘modernature’ Art Event in New York City

Portland, OR – In conjunction with Hybrid.STAND, KEEN proudly presents ‘modernature’, an art exhibit featuring artists whose work focuses on both environmental and social issues. Each artist involved with this showing utilizes found, sustainable or renewable materials or depicts environmental images as their subject matter. The reception for this event is:

This event is a unique opportunity for the works of a variety of talented artists to be shown together. While each piece in this show is unique, they are all connected to one another by a common theme, ‘Modernature’, which examines the dynamic relationship between modernity and nature; be it the natural world being affected by technology or how ‘human nature’ is continually shifting.

Artists whose work will be featured include Chris Jordan, Jason Lascu, Barbrara Yontz, Lucretia Troncoso, Marcus Kenney, McKay Otto, Vadis Turner, Mary Sue Kern, Nick Butcher, Gina Binkley, Bill Miller, Lisa Franke, John and Lynn Whipple, Laura Levine, Kevin Dresser and Stephanie Cook.

KEEN, a leader in hybrid outdoor performance products, including footwear, socks and bags, has recently launched Hybrid.STAND, an innovative initiative designed to inspire and empower people who are passionate, active and involved – or want to become involved – with making a difference around sustainability. Hybrid.STAND is for people who want to contribute and make a difference and offers a means for them to share or gain support for their ideas. Through Hybrid.STAND, KEEN is offering $150,000 in awards for ideas submitted that address issues of sustainability.

The Hybrid.STAND program includes a new documentary titled, “STAND.” Hosted by musician G. Love, “STAND” showcases nine inspiring individuals who are pioneering new sustainable ideas and shows how they are encouraging others to do the same. The documentary will be shown at the event at Lotus Space.
