Boulder, Colo. (January 12, 2008) – Kelty, cornerstone brand for the outdoor world, has partnered with international airline Icelandair, high-tech insulation manufacturer Climashield, Vasque footwear, and Alaska Mountain Guides to promote outdoor adventure with an international Iceland Adventure sweepstakes.
The sweepstakes Grand Prize is an all expenses paid Iceland Adventure with a winner selected in October 2008. Contestants can register at www.Kelty.com starting January 18, 2008. To help promote the Grand Prize, airfare for two to Reykjavik, Iceland will be given away at the Outdoor Retailer trade show on Friday, January 25.
“Iceland is the perfect destination for an outdoor adventure giveaway,†said Christian Mason, Kelty marketing manager. “Glaciers, hot springs, and abundant opportunities to hike, climb and explore are all easily accessible from Iceland’s very cosmopolitan capitol city, Reykjavik, which is a surprisingly short flight away from New York City.â€
Official sweepstakes spokes-Viking, Kjelty Bakpakkurson, will make his first public appearance during the Outdoor Retailer Backcountry Basecamp on January 22. For a chance to win airfare for two, simply ‘Find the Viking’ and drop a business card in his helmet.
“Does anyone know where to find a decent leg of lamb and a pint of mead in Salt Lake City? Sushi and 3.2 beer just doesn’t cut it,†said Kjelty, contest spokes-Viking.
Show attendees are also welcome to ‘Find the Viking’ and register at any point during regular Outdoor Retailer show hours. Airfare winners will be drawn during the Kelty Adventure Sweepstakes happy hour, hosted in the Kelty booth (#22017), between 5-6 pm on Friday, January 25. Contestants must be present to win.
Sweepstakes participants are encouraged to visit Kjelty’s My Space page at http://www.myspace.com/kjeltytheviking for a variety of Viking-related fun and more information on Iceland and our Grand Prize adventure.
