BOULDER, COLO. (For Immediate Release) – Kelty, cornerstone brand for the outdoor world, takes a fresh look at the traditional-style camp lantern with the introduction of a new lighting category, lead by the unique, innovative, and fun to use LumaTwist and LumaPivot lighting systems.
Setting the LumaTwist and LumaPivot apart from traditional camp lanterns are two 360-degree rotating LED panels, allowing the user to aim light in an infinite number of directions for customized illumination of any campsite, tent, or outdoor space. The two LED panels rotate independently, providing direct light, indirect light, or a combination of both with a flick of the wrist.
“Ever since Dick Kelty revolutionized the backpack world by welding the very first aluminum external frame packs and turning seatbelts into waistbelts, Kelty has been dedicated to innovative gear design to help people get the most out of their outdoor experiences,” said Sue Edmiston, marketing director with Kelty. “These new lights showcase that dedication, giving campers a new, handy, one-of-a-kind way to see after dark.”
The LumaTwist and LumaPivot are the highlight products in a new lighting category that will compliment Kelty’s growing line of Basecamping equipment. With the launch of this new category, Kelty will be able to offer families and comfort campers a more complete line of innovative, high-quality Basecamp gear.
The LumaTwist’s dual 360-degree “direct pivot” panels each contain 13 individual LED lights, putting out a maximum of 350 lumens of bright, clean, easily directed light. Two brightness settings let you chose the right amount of light for your needs, whether pitching your tent after dark or playing cards at the picnic table. Running on four D-batteries, the LumaTwist will burn up to 50 hours on the low setting while putting out 125 lumens. Aim both panels together or independently for just the right amount of direct or indirect lighting. $59.99.
Tall, slender, and infinitely useful, the LumaPivot is a compact light solution for camping, road trips, or around the house. Dual pivoting panels contain 15 LED lights each and move independently, providing abundant light exactly where you need it for superb direct or indirect lighting. Switch the LumaPivot between high and low power for six hours at 210 lumens or 12 hours at 112 lumens respectively. Powered by 6 AA-batteries, the LumaPivot weighs under a pound and fits easily into a pack, car, or home utility drawer. $49.99.
Joining the LumaTwist and LumaPivot in Kelty’s new for Spring 2011 lighting category will be the new LumaCamp, LumaTech, and LumaTrail camp lights.
