Morton currently holds the American record for running the longest distance in a 24-hour race – 172 miles.

Atlanta, Ga. – Today, Kill Cliff Recovery Drink, the lightly carbonated beverage formulated with anti-inflammation supporting ingredients and electrolytes, welcomes ultrarunning legend U.S. Army Master Sargent Mike Morton to its pro team. Dominating the ultramarathon circuit, Morton has won every 100-mile race he has entered in the last year. Currently, he holds the American record for running the longest distance in a 24-hour race – 172 miles.

“Mike Morton’s winning ability to overcome the physical and mental challenges of an ultramarathon race defines the Kill Cliff brand,” Kill Cliff Founder Todd Ehrlich said. “Furthermore, Morton’s involvement with the U.S. military is something Kill Cliff is committed to honoring. We are proud to welcome U.S. Army Master Sargent Mike Morton to the Kill Cliff team.”

Morton began his winning streak in January 2012 when he won the 100-mile Long Haul race in Florida with a record-setting time of 13:18:58. In March 2012, he went on to win the Umstead 100-mile race in North Carolina. Then in May 2012, he won the Keys Ultras 100 in Florida.

Stepping it up in July 2012, Morton won the Badwater Ultramarathon. Recognized globally as “the world’s toughest foot race,” Badwater covers 135 miles non-stop from Death Valley to Mt. Whitney, California, in temperatures up to 130 Fahrenheit. It is the most demanding and extreme running race on the planet.

In 2013, Morton has won both the Iron Horse 100-mile race in Florida and the Rocky Raccoon 100-mile race in Texas.

Morton is a Special Forces operator who has been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. When he isn’t winning 100-mile races, he is serving his country at United States Special Operations Command.

Kill Cliff will help support Morton’s ultrarunning events and help him raise money for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
