Kinetic Extends NICA Sponsorship in New 2-Year Agreement
Trainer manufacturer also provides Indoor Training Tips for NICA Coaches Manual
Minneapolis, Minn. – January 14, 2014 –Kinetic will continue its support of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) as a bronze level sponsor for the next two years, the company announced today.
As part of the sponsorship, all certified NICA coaches can purchase the full line of Kinetic trainers and accessories at a discount through a Kinetic retailer in their area. This program enables coaches to set up an indoor “practice” facility so the team can get together for a workout regardless of the weather.
In addition to direct monetary support, Kinetic will also host a race warm-up tent at each race in NICA’s 10 leagues where student-athletes can use Kinetic trainers before their event.
“Attending a single NICA race is more than enough evidence to show the value in sponsoring the organization; there’s passion, camaraderie and talent on display in huge fields of young athletes,” said Kinetic Marketing Manager David Simpson. “We’re proud to continue supporting leagues around the country and helping coaches and student-athletes make the most of their hard work.”
As part of its sponsorship last year, Kinetic created a detailed training section for the fourth edition of the NICA Coaches Manual to help volunteer leaders provide the best information to young student-athletes looking to maximize their training. Kinetic’s eight-page contribution outlines the basics of stationary bike workouts, safety precautions, creative and fun training techniques and race warm-up and cool-down routines for race-day use.
The coaches’ manual is available to individuals participating in NICA’s coach licensing program across the country and provides detailed guidance on riding, training, coaching and other relevant topics essential to creating a fun and positive environment for adolescent cyclists.
“Kinetic Trainers has been supporting NICA since 2011 and has become an integral part of high school mountain bike racing,” said NICA Executive Director Austin McInerny. “Of course mountain biking is very much an outdoor activity, but onsite at an event, there’s no better way to warm-up the legs than by spinning on a stationary trainer with teammates under the direction of a coach, and in the off-season when the trails are wet and muddy an indoor trainer is a great way to stay in shape while protecting the natural environment.”
Kinetic has been a leading trainer manufacturer since 1999, with its patented fluid resistance unit featuring the company’s magnetically coupled driveshaft to eliminate leaks. The company’s goal is to help cyclists of all ages reach their fitness goals with a reliable and realistic indoor riding experience.
