Klättermusen nominated for ECO award at ISPO 2008

Klättermusen is a small Swedish company engaged in ecological interests, and manufacturing and design according to principles of sustainability. The Einride jacket is made from organic cotton, which helps to reduce harmful impact on ecosystems, and also provides farmers with fewer health risks. The cotton is grown according to the EU’s organic agricultural guidelines and it is controlled through an independent organization Skal International. The fabrics are dyed in a closed system to prevent chemicals ending up in the wastewater. The weatherproofing of the jacket is fluorocarbon-free, which means it does not contain the hazardous PFOA, a hormone-like substance that can affect the reproduction systems of animals and humans.

The nominated Einride jacket is densely woven with organic cotton, highly windproof, and keeps you dry in light rain for several hours. Water resistant by construction, the fabric swells when it gets wet. The front zipper is slightly slanted to prevent water leaking through into the jacket and to allow for a smoother feeling on the chin. The jacket is equipped with a compass and whistle in the pocket—which can itself be used as a stuff-bag.

A product that lasts twice as long has half the effect on the environment. Klättermusen is striving to create long-lasting products in timeless colors and as durable as possible.
Klättermusen are also donating 1% of our turnover to environmental projects. And the customers choose where the procentage goes.
