Klean Kanteen joined One Percent for the Planet (1% FTP), pledging a portion of its sales to support nonprofit, environmental groups that help the planet.
“By signing on to 1% FTP, it shows that Klean Kanteen is really walking the walk in its environmental efforts,†says Strick Walker, Chief Marketing & Development Officer for 1% FTP. “The 1% family has funneled over $30M into the hands of environmental groups to date proving that the shared belief that you can do well as a business by doing the right thing is clearly apparent.â€
“Joining 1% is an important step in our commitment to the environment,†Klean Kanteen Director of Awareness Jeff Cresswell stated. “We work hard to create the finest processes, products, and services so our customers can enjoy what they deserve: peace of mind. Through 1%, we can more broadly and effectively give back to the people and groups that share our goals to promote clean air, clean water, thriving plant and animal species, and the overall ethics of environmental stewardship.â€
Members of 1% FTP contribute one percent of sales to any of the environmental organizations listed on 1% FTP’s roster. Nonprofits are chosen based on referrals, track record and environmental focus. Over 1,500 nonprofits worldwide are in the 1% network.
The partnership with 1% FTP is just the latest in a constant stream of outreach by Klean Kanteen. On October 1st, the brand launched a three-month campaign to donate 20% of the sales generated by the “Pink Renewal†bottle to the Breast Cancer Fund.
In 2008, Klean Kanteen also partnered with the Environmental Working Group to support efforts in the protection of public health and the environment. The brand worked with the California Academy of Sciences, First Descents cancer organization, the Wheeled Migration, the Rothbury Festival, and many others to continue to support individuals and organizations striving to be leaders in environmental and philanthropic stewardship.
