Arcata, Calif., (September 15, 2009) – Kokatat, a 38-year-old, independent paddlewear and accessories company, is a founding sponsor of Anna Levesque’s “Girls At Play” paddling program. Girls At Play (GAP) is an organization designed to encourage female participation in watersports and to empower women in their daily lives.
A longtime Kokatat sponsored athlete, Levesque has seen the sport’s popularity among women steadily increase and she has traveled the world competing and spreading the message of a healthy, active, and balanced lifestyle. Levesque and Kokatat have a number of projects in the works including the January 2010 Girls At Play Mexico paddling trip.
Kokatat is donating a limited edition Girls at Play logoed “Rogue” Gore-Tex® Dry Top for participants who book their spot in the GAP Mexico paddling trip by October 31st. These early registrants will be entered into a drawing for the GAP-logoed Rogue.
The Rogue is Levesque’s personal dry top of choice as it’s the most durable dry top available on the market. Its Latex gaskets covered with punch-through neck and wrist closures are comfortable and functional, and the cummerbund waist improves the fit.
Levesque just released a trailer for her latest Girls at Play whitewater kayaking instructional video for women, Kayaking with Anna Levesque: A Woman’s Guide to Paddling. Viewers will be able to see firsthand Kokatat product being used on the water. To watch the trailer please visit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYeqXSHNklk. The film will be released in Spring 2010.
Don’t miss Levesque’s appearance at American Whitewater’s Gauley Festival September 18-20. She will be operating a Kokatat/GAP booth, where GAP logo embroidered Ronin PFDs will be for sale. Kokatat has also donated raffle products for the ladies who attend Levesque’s women’s specific paddling event at the Gauley Festival, dubbed “Ladies on the Lower G.”
