ARCATA, California – The new Kokatat Habanero liner for Spring 2017 takes paddlers’ favorite dry suit insulation to a new level. Kokatat used multiple fabrics and body mapping designs to create a performance, paddling specific one-piece liner that is compatible with all Kokatat dry suits including those with SwitchZip technology.

“The reaction from the market to SwitchZip has been amazing, but one issue we heard from paddlers was that our current liner didn’t work well with the zipper placement,” said Jeff Turner, Kokatat sales manager. “The Habanero addresses all those concerns and is packed with more features and performs better than any liner on the market.”

The Habanero has a unique zipper system that includes a long front entry zipper and a waist zipper. The Habanero’s waist zipper acts as a drop seat designed to work with all Kokatat dry suits, including SwitchZip suits. The waist zipper sits comfortably at the waist without interfering with outfitting.

The men’s Habanero has a traditional underwear fly while the women’s has an “invisible” zipper that runs from the waist to the bottom of the rise designed to be used with female urination devices.

The main body of the suit is made with heavyweight, recycled, Polartec® PowerDry®. The fabric’s durable jersey face along with the suits integrated thumb holes enable easy layering under dry suits or other garments, while its fleece back provides next to skin comfort, warmth and superior moisture management.

A lighter weight Polartec® grid fleece is used in the underarms, cuffs, neck and ankles of the suit. This stretch fabric dries quickly and is highly breathable for improved comfort and freedom of movement with each paddle stroke.

The suit features flat-stitch seams throughout and a zippered chest pocket. The chest pocket was an important detail requested by numerous paddlers as it provides watertight storage when worn under a Kokatat dry suit for sensitive small items like chipped car keys.

The SwitchZip compatible Habanero will be available at better specialty paddlesports and outdoor retailers in Spring 2017 and online at Kokatat.com.

Kokatat will introduce the Habanero and its complete Spring 2017 Collection at the 2016 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, UT, August 3-6 (Booth 33059).

About Kokatat Inc.
Kokatat has been manufacturing paddling gear in Arcata, California for 45 years. At a time when many technical apparel brands were moving manufacturing offshore, Kokatat continued to invest in infrastructure in the United States. Kokatat founder Steve O’Meara was committed to the development of the finest and driest paddling apparel in the world and recognized the need to control and continually evolve the development of our dry wear. In the early days, Kokatat worked closely with W.L. Gore & Associates, makers of GORE-TEX®, to refine the sewing and sealing techniques required for full immersion suits and tops. Today, our hands-on approach to manufacturing continues to set the standard in paddling apparel. Into the water with Kokatat! Learn more at www.kokatat.com.
