East Lansing, Michigan (March 23, 2021) — KOM Cycling, creators of various problem-solving cycling and indoor cycling accessories, has hired Park City-based SIMBOL Communications to handle a variety of PR and marketing services for the foreseeable future. The brand has built a strong, loyal following, but as they continue to grow, they’re counting on SIMBOL’s deep knowledge of the industry, media and market to significantly grow KOM’s client base and name recognition with cycling enthusiasts as well as the wealth of newbies/returning riders following the cycling boom of 2020.
KOM is currently working with two US distributors as well as one international; products can be purchased on their website along with Amazon and Decathlon and are available in select retailers nationwide. With their recent success, they’re actively seeking new partnerships.
Starting while still at University of Michigan in 2016, developing innovative computer mounts to fit various brands, the upstart brand has increased their offerings in phone and computer mounts and broadened their offerings to include tubeless flat repair, along with their decisive move into indoor cycling accessories.
“As a bunch of cycling-crazed kids – and now cycling-crazed adults! – we were always tinkering with our bikes and trying to upgrade and improve without having to buy too much stuff,” says Founder and CEO Austin Loper. “That’s how KOM began: We set out to produce accessories that solve problems and outperform our rivals, and it seems to be working, as we continue to grow. KOM’s accessories are just the range of products newbies need as they continue to grow in the sport and are equally suited for enthusiasts looking to upgrade. Even more timely was the 2019 launch of their flagship product, the Indoor Rocker Plate RPV1, which provides a more natural feel for cycling on indoor trainers. Indoor training software like Zwift also exploded in 2020, so KOM was perfectly placed to help fill that need. Their Indoor Media Display Cycling Desk is another perfect example.
