Kris Versteegen Joins Verde PR & Consulting

Durango, Colo., – Verde PR & Consulting announces that Kris Versteegen will join the agency as account executive, effective Jan. 1, 2008. At Verde, Versteegen will be responsible for key account management and new business acquisition, working closely with agency president Kristin Carpenter-Ogden.

Versteegen comes to Verde PR & Consulting from The SportsOneSource Group, a leading trade information platform servicing the sporting goods and outdoor markets. Versteegen was a partner with SportsOneSource, and managing editor for the outdoor and running specialty markets.

During his five-year tenure with SportsOneSource, Versteegen was responsible for launching The B.O.S.S. Report and Performance Sports Retailer, and accelerating the development of both titles into leading trade publications in the outdoor specialty and running specialty industries, respectively. Versteegen was also actively involved in the acquisition and integration of the Sporting Goods Business family of magazines, including Outdoor Business, from The Nielson Company, which The SportsOneSource Group completed in mid-2006.

Prior to SportsOneSource, Versteegen worked as the climbing school director for Inner Peaks Climbing Center in Charlotte, N.C. He graduated cum laude from The University of North Carolina, Charlotte, with a bachelor’s degree in creative writing.

Versteegen will join Verde as a partner. Claire Ninde, Verde’s business manager, will also become a partner in the agency, effective January 2008.
