La Sportiva Introduces Batura 2.0 GTX Mountain Boot

La Sportiva North America, makers of the world’s finest mountain products, introduces the Batura 2.0 GTX, a lightweight, waterproof, breathable boot for winter mountaineering and ice climbing. The Batura 2.0 GTX features two layers of GORE-TEX® brand technology optimized specifically for demanding alpine mountaineering.

By drastically reducing the weight of the boot compared to traditional winter mountaineering boots, the Batura 2.0 GTX walks well and reduces the load on the foot with each step.

The Batura 2.0 GTX is the first boot combining a GORE-TEX® lined inner boot with an integrated gaiter using GORE-TEX® footwear stretch laminate, providing protection, comfort and insulation in tough conditions. The boots two-layer system emerged from a multi-year collaboration between Gore and La Sportiva. By incorporating a GORE-TEX® stretch laminate into the outer gaiter and a 4 layer laminate into the inner boot, the Batura 2.0 GTX offers the best combination of durable waterproofness, breathability and insulation.

Along with traditional Gore laboratory testing, the Batura 2.0 GTX was field tested in the Slovenian Alps as well as by mountain guides in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
