(Boulder, Colo.) – Following the successful launch of its ski mountaineering winter apparel line, La Sportiva North America, makers of the world’s finest mountain products, introduces a full line of Mountain Running® apparel for Spring 2013. The new apparel as well as nine new footwear styles will be introduced at the 2012 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market tradeshow.
“Since we created the Mountain Running® category over 10 years ago with our first shoe, we’ve remained committed to the sport,†states Jonathan Lantz, president of La Sportiva North America. “As the running market continues to grow, interest in lightweight, high-performance products is stronger than ever and we’ve utilized innovative design and fabrics to assemble a top-notch line of apparel. We’re proud to expand our commitment to mountain running with a new line of apparel.â€
La Sportiva will distribute its apparel line in specialty outdoor and running retail stores where recognition of the brand’s footwear is already strong. The line includes 31 new styles including performance shirts, tanks, tights, shorts, skirts and jackets. La Sportiva utilized some of the best-known brands in textiles, insulation and membranes to create the line including, Cocona, Polygiene, Primaloft and Gore-Tex®.
A few highlights of the apparel line include the Men’s Quest T-shirt, a technical trail running shirt designed for ultra runners with a body mapped design and 3 different fabrics. The Men’s Pace short is designed with a comfortable waistband and a split outseam to ensure freedom of movement for long miles on the trail. For women, the Crystal T-shirt delivers excellent comfort and UPF 50+ sun protection in an attractive feminine cut while the Prima three-quarter length tight features a soft waist band and flat lock seams that eliminate chafing.
In footwear, La Sportiva builds on the success of its Vertical K with The Helios, a minimalist, highly breathable trail running shoe. Weighing in at eight ounces with a drop of four millimeters, the Helios features a soft EVA rock guard on top of the midsole for excellent protection and comfort while the integrated floating tongue makes the shoe super comfortable. Additionally, an update to La Sportiva’s tried and true Raptor is the Ultra Raptor. A highly compressed EVA endurance platform rock guard adjusts the drop of the shoe to eight millimeters and adds forefoot protection for long grueling runs on technical terrain.
The full line of Spring 2013 La Sportiva products, including Mountain Running footwear and apparel, will be on display throughout the 2012 OR Summer Market at the La Sportiva booth #18027. To make a media appointment, please contact Cory Lowe at email@example.com.
