La Sportiva Launches Versatile TX Series Approach Shoes and Adds to Technical Climbing Offerings for Spring 2016

July 27, 2015 (BOULDER, Colo.) — Headlining the Spring 2016 season for La Sportiva is the new TX approach series, designed to meet the uncompromising demands of the modern mountain athlete, as well as two new elite climbing shoes, the Otaki and Skwama, which promise to be new favorites of climbers everywhere.

The TX series stands out for its versatility. Complete with a knit polyester upper that collapses for easy packing and hauling, the TX2 is designed for the gram-conscious climber. The TX3 features a similar synthetic upper paired with a beefier outsole. In addition to the Vibram MegaGrip Traverse outsole featured on all three models, the TX3 and TX4 are equipped with La Sportiva’s Impact Brake System, providing exceptional stability and comfort on the trail. The TX4 rounds out the line and is the definitive big brother of the bunch; a durable leather upper makes it capable of exceptional performance in any condition imaginable. The TX2, TX3 and TX4 will retail at $125, $130 and $135, respectively.

The newest additions to La Sportiva’s dominant climbing line, the Otaki and the Skwama are both aggressively downturned and feature the brand new S-Heel. The S-Heel provides unmatched heel-hooking performance and improves fit by connecting the heel rubber directly to the upper. By pairing this new, improved heel with La Sportiva’s proven P3 technology for downturned performance and two hook & loop straps over the top of a modified slipper, the Otaki delivers complete performance for high-end sport climbing and bouldering. The Otaki will retail for $175.

The Skwama is a high-performance slipper that bolsters elite performance and fit with a single hook & loop closure. In addition to the updated heel and P3 aggression, the Skwama also features ample toe rubber on the top of the shoe and an innovative sole construction that allows the sole to spread under weight, reducing critical edge deformation. The Skwama has a MSRP of $140. The Finale, another addition to the climbing line, is an affordable, Italian-made lace-up geared for all-around performance with an MSRP of $99.

Built on the award-winning Trango platform, the Trango TRK GTX is La Sportiva’s newest supremely capable synthetic hiker. Lightweight and technical, the new Trango uses a one-piece Gore-Tex upper with few seams to create a waterproof boot built for both abuse and performance. The 3D Flex ankle insert allows for excellent mobility and comfort over long days on the trail. An excellent combination of proven technology and innovative new features, the Trango TRK GTX is equally at home backpacking and on single day adventures. The boot will retail for $220.
