La Sportiva N.A. Doubles Warehouse Space to Accommodate Growth

La Sportiva N.A., makers of technical climbing, mountaineering, Mountain Running®, hiking footwear and ski mountaineering hardware announced the completion of its newly expanded distribution warehouse space in Boulder, Colorado.

“We have doubled our warehouse size and expanded our office space to accommodate year after year double digit growth,” said Jonathan Lantz, President of La Sportiva North America. “Over the past three years La Sportiva North America has grown its sales by 56%, with an average annual growth rate of 18%.”

With the expansion, La Sportiva North America will shorten supply chain lead times and improve product availability for their customers by increasing basic stock levels and more efficiently meeting sales demands. It will also accommodate La Sportiva’s launch into the ski mountaineering category for Fall 2011/Winter 2012. The initial success of this category combined with the strong growth in La Sportiva’s core footwear categories drove the decision to expand the distribution facility and office space.

“The expansion of our new DC and office space is an exciting milestone for La Sportiva North America,” continued Lantz. “It represents an important tipping point as we strive to continually improve our dealer services, customer service and market penetration. The expansion also offers us the additional space to handle our forthcoming new product categories.”

Additional offices, a new employee lounge, conference space and product showroom are also being incorporated in the newly renovated La Sportiva North America distribution center.
