Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort Kicks Off Season on Friday, Nov. 26

Las Vegas (November 22, 2010)—Locals and visitors will have a chance to ski Vegas starting Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, when Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort (LVSSR) kicks off its 2010-11 season. Lift ticket offices, located in the base lodge area, open daily at 8:45 a.m. Additionally, three chairlifts and one surface lift serving LVSSR’s 11 trails and Darkside Terrain Park, a freestyle terrain park for skiers and snowboarders, will run daily from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Amenities such as The Sports Shop, The Big Horn Café and The Bristlecone Lounge will be open for service daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“Last season was the longest in our history,” says Kevin Stickelman, president and general manager of LVSSR. “This year, with our increased snowmaking ability and many other upgrades, our guests can look forward to a bigger and better season. We’re offering some great programs to help the local community take advantage of the great terrain at LVSSR, including lesson packages and a more convenient Ski Bus route.” The expanded Ski Bus route will give locals and tourists alike more options to access Ski Vegas.

Effective November 26, the Ski Bus will pick up and drop off passengers daily at Town Square and Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino. An additional stop at University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) is scheduled for Fridays. Roundtrip fare for all standard routes is $20. A special Mountain Shuttle is available for $10 roundtrip, with daily pickup and drop-off service at the Resort at Mount Charleston.
