LAS VEGAS (March 4, 2015) Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort (LVSSR) announces that it has selected Ron Batula as its new director of human resources. Batula will be in charge of strategizing, planning, administering, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating all personnel management functions at LVSSR. He will also oversee legal compliance and development of human resources policies including the employee handbook, maintenance of personnel records, recruitment, wage and salary administration, training and development, employee benefits and employee relations. Working closely with the executive team, Batula will also act as a leader in the partnering and development of other managers at the resort.

Batula brings over 25 years of experience in human resources, training and safety/risk management to LVSSR. He most recently worked in human resources for Maverick Aviation where he trained employees and developed extensive safety and risk management procedures. Batula also served as a core member of the human resources team during his more than 20 years of service in the United States Army. Other experience includes his role as human resource and training manager at Death Valley Lodging Company and food and beverage supervisor for Binion’s Gambling Hall and Hotel.

“Ron’s vast experience in human resources and safety, along with his background in hospitality, is an excellent combination that will result in building an even stronger team for our resort,” said Kevin Stickelman, LVSSR president and general manger. “He is a proven leader and manager, and will be a great asset to us as we continue to grow. I’m thrilled to welcome him to our team.”

Batula graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business and administration from the University of Hawaii in 1998 and later received his bachelor’s in human resources from the University of Phoenix in 2001. In 2004, he moved to Las Vegas from Honolulu, Hawaii, where he was born and raised. When he’s not working, Batula enjoys teaching Zumba classes and spending time with his wife, Colette, and their two children.
