(Jacksonville, Florida) March 11th, 2013 – 110%, the brand responsible for delivering cutting edge compression and ice gear for faster recovery and better performance, announces an official partnership with professional runner, Lauren Fleshman, the newest member of the 2013 110% Playmaker Team.

In only 2 years since their launch to retail, 110% has gained a strong customer base of runners, triathletes, cyclists and fitness enthusiasts. The brand is distributed in almost 300 premier run specialty and multisport retailers in the United States and the United Kingdom. 110%’s mission is to give athletes the tools to play harder by providing them with faster recovery for better performance, in a simple, mobile system.

Running on a parallel growth path, Lauren Fleshman has established herself as one of the most recognized runners in the world. She holds two US Championship titles in the 5000m event (2006, 2010), earned 7th in the world for the 5000m (2011), and accomplished a marathon debut time of 2:37 at the New York City Marathon 2011. That same year, she also graced the cover of Runner’s World in the issue leading up to the New York City Marathon.

In addition to pursuing her running career, Fleshman is also a creative entrepreneur. She co-founded Picky Bars, a gluten and dairy-free energy company, with her husband, professional triathlete Jesse Thomas, and professional runner Steph Rothstein. The Stanford educated trailblazer also manages a blog, ‘Ask Lauren Fleshman’ which is one of the most widely read blogs amongst runners and receives over 7,500 global views per blog post. On her blog, Fleshman answers questions of the day, reveals her personal experiences and musings, and engages with her audience firsthand. Recently, she announced her pregnancy to her ever growing fan-base in a December post.

As an influential voice in women’s running; balancing a full time career, an athletic lifestyle, a healthy pregnancy and a family life, Lauren is a perfect example for women who desire to work hard and play even harder. She will use

110% products throughout her pregnancy and during her return to full- time training in late summer 2013 as she strives to improve and simplify her recovery routine.

“As soon as I tried the 110% Juggler Knickers, I wished that this gear had been around for the past 10 years!” says Fleshman. “It’s a brilliant design and obvious value for people who push themselves athletically, regardless of their sport. The game changer is being able to use the inserts for ice or heat. The key to consistent training is the ability to manage minor injuries, or “niggles” as I call them, without missing too much training and while allowing healing to progress. This involves heating these vulnerable muscle areas before exercise to prevent trauma, and icing them down afterward to flush the tissues with nutrient rich, healing blood. Each technique has its place and time, and before 110%, it was a time consuming task and nuisance to actually DO it. 110% makes it a no-brainer to slap on your knickers and stuff the pockets.”

David Green, CEO for 110% and ultra-runner, comments, “We are so excited to have Lauren join our family. Her energetic spirit, ambition and willingness to help others are synonymous with the 110% brand. Given Lauren’s past in dealing with injuries and prioritizing the importance of proper recovery, we couldn’t think of a better person to help “play harder,” be it on the race course or on her journey towards motherhood. We look forward to a bright future together.”
