Leisure Trends Teaches How to Profit from Retail Data

Retailers, suppliers and manufacturers can take the first step toward increased sales and profitability by attending free courses offered by Leisure Trends Group during Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, Aug. 10 – 13. The free 45-minute classes, dubbed LTG University, are designed to shed light on how to turn retail data and trends into valuable action-oriented, bottom-line boosting information. Curriculum will be based on hot-off-the-presses RetailTRAK® market intelligence.

RetailTRAK is a powerful and easy-to-use retail sales tracking tool providing retailers and suppliers with answers to business-critical questions. Point of sale data collected from more than 1,500 retailers across the U.S. reveal critical insights into the retail landscape including brand and style trends, market share, best sellers, key price points, as well as sell-through, margins, and return on investment.

Using RetailTRAK as a guide, smart suppliers can plan to manufacture products in step with rising trends and reduce exposure to shrinking product categories. Retailers can use the data to glean how to buy into trends and when to bail out of out-of-date merchandise.

LTGU courses are offered in two tracks, one geared specifically toward retailers, the other for suppliers and manufactures. All classes will be held at Leisure Trends Booth #46, pre-registration not required. Advanced one-on-one tutorials are available by appointment.
• Retailer Session: Data Savvy for Smart Buyers, with LTG retail tracking expert Jason Gee, offered daily at 10 a.m.
• Suppliers/Manufacturers Session: Competitive Landscape: Turning a Minefield into a Treasure Trove, by LTG senior retail marketing analyst Scott Jaeger. Offered 1 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. Sunday.
