LEKI Announces Sponsorship of Ben Clark’s The Snowman Trek Movie

Movie trailer to debut at Outdoor Retailer, LEKI booth #22043
BUFFALO, NY – July 24, 2017
LEKI is pleased to announce its support of The Snowman Trek Movie (Blue Fox Entertainment), a documentary by Ben Clark portraying the attempt by four endurance athletes to set the speed record on what is largely considered to be the world’s most difficult mountainous trek. The previous Fastest Known Time (FKT) on the Snowman Trek in Bhutan’s high Himalayans is 19 days. Clark and his team set the FKT of 15 days and nine hours last October.
Along their attempt at the 188-mile Snowman Trek, Ben Clark, Anna Frost, Tim Olson and Chris Ord faced 11 mountain passes topping 16,000 feet, brutal weather conditions, altitude sickness and initial resistance from the local support team. The Snowman Trek Movie brilliantly portrays the ups and downs of this daring adventure which eventually leads to the ultimate accomplishment for both the runners and the Bhutanese guides, redefining what can be done on the intensely demanding route.
As part of its sponsorship of The Snowman Trek Movie, LEKI provided trail running poles for the athletes and guides to use during the quest. LEKI recently entered the trail running market with a line of poles made specifically for the sport, using selective technology and performance features from its trekking, mountaineering and Nordic competition poles.
The Snowman Trek Movie is set to release in winter 2018. LEKI will be showing the movie trailer in its booth #22043 at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market later this week.
