LEKI Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary of Trigger S Grip System

BUFFALO, NY – This year marks the 10 year anniversary of LEKI’s revolutionary Trigger S system, a technological milestone not only in the company’s history, but for the entire ski industry as well. First introduced to market in 2007 by Klaus Lenhart, who had taken over the company from his father Karl in 1984, Trigger S is the first “safety binding” for ski poles that set the standard for pole grip technology development.

While Lenhart first introduced a Trigger system in 1998, his commitment to safety further drove his constant quest for technical developments. The Trigger S system is an even more intuitive grip-strap system that features a loop made of tear-resistant material that is connected to the top of the top of the grip that one can simply click in and out of and is automatically released in the event of a crash or if triggered, thus preventing injuries from swirling ski poles. A glove collection complements the innovation – each model comes with a discreet Trigger loop built in. An internal power frame that is precisely tailored to each size ensures perfect force distribution and optimum stability.

Just last year in 2016, LEKI introduced the Trigger Vertical system for alpine touring, where the technology centers around the Flexband, an elastic band incorporated into the Trigger strap that enables variable hand positions without having to click out of the grip. This allows the pole to remain firmly connected to the hand with optimal power transmission on top of the pole for palming. This introduction brings the Trigger system full circle, making the technology available for all ski disciplines from Nordic to Alpine to Backcountry.

LEKI is celebrating the 10 year anniversary of Trigger S by kicking off the party at the SIA Snow Show in Denver, CO, this week. Join us on Friday, January 27 at 4 p.m., booth #2925, for a special happy hour with beer and Trigger S giveaways.

And the party doesn’t stop there. On Saturday, January 28, from 4 – 6 p.m. legendary freeskier and LEKI athlete Glen Plake will be at the booth signing posters.
