LEKI, a leader in innovative skiing, trekking and trail running poles and gloves, and Boa Technology, a global leader in performance fit systems, are proud to introduce the integration of The Boa® System into a new generation of LEKI Trigger gloves in 2018. To achieve an even closer fit and improve performance of the LEKI pole-glove connection, The Boa® System now becomes a functional component of the LEKI Trigger System, the first “safety binding” for ski poles first introduced over 10 years ago. The new system is applied in Alpine Skiing with Trigger S as well as in Cross Country Skiing with Trigger Shark.
LEKI and Boa® are both pioneers in their respective technologies and worked in tandem to produce a glove with the ultimate fit for performance to achieve the next level of innovation. The Boa® System, an original design that delivers closure and adjustment solutions purpose-built for performance, consists of three integral parts: a micro-adjustable dial, super-strong lightweight laces, and low friction lace guides. Incorporating The Boa® System on the LEKI Trigger gloves optimizes the glove ergonomics with the hand to achieve an even better and closer connection to the pole as well as ultimate power transmission, and at the same time guaranteeing freedom of movement and a perfect fit. Engineers from both companies thoroughly tested the effects of the system’s forces of tension and gravity exerted on the hand and how to find the best angle for the laces to achieve the optimum power distribution and closest connection to the pole.
Historically The Boa® System is well known and proven in footwear applications, thus the locking experts have entered unchartered territory by working with LEKI in the field of gloves and they’re excited to help bring the Trigger System to the next level. The Trigger S System with Boa® is applied in the alpine glove Progressive Tune S Boa® (MSRP: $179) and the Trigger Shark System with Boa® is applied in the cross country glove Nordic Tune Shark Boa® (MSRP: $119). Boa® and The Boa® System are protected trademarks of Boa Technology.
