SCHILLER PARK, Ill. – October 5, 2006 – Life Fitness, the global leader in fitness equipment, announces new features to its E3 Integrated LCD System with Touch Screen Technology today at Club Industry 2006 including enhanced visual elements, audio cues and workout options. The enhanced E3 Integrated LCD System is standard on all Life Fitness e-model cardio products.

“These improvements are great examples of Life Fitness’ commitment to delivering technologically advanced equipment,” said Bob Quast, senior director, cardiovascular product management, Life Fitness. “The new features will help facilities attract and retain more users and differentiate themselves from the competition as well as enhance the exerciser’s workout experience.”

Life Fitness used advanced technology to create the visually appealing Workout Landscape Perspectives feature for the E3 Integrated LCD System, which enables exercisers to select from three motivating landscapes – 400 Meter Track, Mountain Course or 5K Nature Trail. Users can make on-the-fly perspective changes by pressing the designated button on the LCD screen.

The system’s new Pace Goal feature enables users to select their pace by entering in a desired time and distance. The screen notifies exercisers when they fall behind, move ahead or remain on their set pace. The enhanced E3 Integrated LCD System’s Create Your Own workout option also lets users create personalized target heart rate, speed/incline or resistance workouts to optimize their exercise results. Users enter their desired time and number of intervals to build a program that helps them reach their goals.

In addition, the E3 Integrated LCD System’s improved workout descriptions provide users with detailed program information that make it easier to select workouts that meet their needs. Plus, the console sounds a distinctive audio cue when a user begins, pauses or ends their workout and prompts users to check their heart rate during the workout.

These new features are in addition to existing features on the E3 Integrated LCD Systems including TV and FM Radio personal entertainment, a mini workout display so users can monitor progress while viewing entertainment, 13 language options for facilities to choose from so end users can select their preferred language as well as a Secure Channel and Promo Channel that give facilities an opportunity to customize their equipment.
