Life Fitness Brings The Gym Home With New Body Shape Kits

DENVER, Aug. 6, 2009 – Life Fitness has created a top-of-the-line accessory package for home exercise. Compiled with input from the top personal trainers in the industry, each accessory was developed with expert knowledge. The kits combine high quality fitness accessories with sophisticated education and programming to take the guesswork out of exercising and shopping.
Tapping its more than 30 years of experience in the health club environment along with 15 years in the home setting, Life Fitness developed this gym-in-a-box to make it easier and more cost-effective to achieve a full-body workout at home. Known as the Body Shape Kit and the Body Shape+ Kit, each kit addresses the five key elements of a healthy lifestyle – cardio, strength, balance, nutrition and education – for losing and maintaining weight, building muscle or simply getting started on a regular fitness routine.

Each Body Shape Kit comes with a heart rate watch that doubles as a pedometer for tracking fitness at all levels throughout the day, even when not exercising; a balance ball (pump included) with a weighted bottom to prevent it from rolling during training; as well as two, 3-pound soft hand weights that significantly enhance any cardio workout.
Two sets of resistance rings and resistance tubes, set at different tension levels, are included to provide endless strength-training opportunities, while the kit’s eco-friendly stretch mat and fitness towel add the finishing touches to a full-body workout.
The Body Shape+ package includes all of the above items as well as a plush foam roller to incorporate more balance and core challenges into the workout, and a double-grip, 8-pound medicine ball, recommended by personal trainers. A premium equipment mat (valued at $129) provides the ultimate protection for floors under all Life Fitness cardio equipment.
Both kits come with an exercise DVD delivering four live, goal-based workouts from professional personal trainers as well as “Flex Your Balance” and “All Around Abs” programming. A comprehensive exercise and nutrition guide provides education for those looking to begin a fitness program, or those trying to take their routine to a new level, while the personal program planner offers a motivational tool essential for all exercisers.
