Life Fitness names VP of Global Supply Chain

Schiller Park, Ill. (Sept 8, 2008) – Gary Hirschel has been promoted to vice president of global supply chain for Life Fitness. Previously Hirschel held leadership positions within the company for the international business unit. Hirschel will be replacing Tim Wild, who has been appointed to run the consumer business.
Hirschel brings 18 years of experience in leadership, business development and supply chain management to his new role. His most recent position was senior director of international operations, where he focused on building the global business and improving operations with distributors and key accounts.
“Gary has been a strong member of our operational team since joining Life Fitness in 2006,†said John Stransky, president of Life Fitness. “I am looking forward to having him on my executive staff in his promotion to this position.â€
Prior to joining Life Fitness, Hirschel served as the director of supply chain at Baxter International where he focused on special projects developing supply chain services to reduce costs and provide revenue generation opportunities for the company. Hirschel also led a supply chain redesign through process improvement and automation activities for the company.
Hirschel received his bachelor’s degree in business from Illinois State University. He also received a master’s degree in business administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He currently lives with his wife and two children in Wilmette, Ill.
