LIfe Fitness Opens New Retail Store In Brazil

SCHILLER PARK, Ill., Dec. 4, 2008 – Life Fitness, recognized as the global leader in the fitness industry, has opened a company branded store in Brazil. Located in São Paulo, the store will offer a full-line of Life Fitness cardio and strength equipment for commercial and home use, including the company’s new iPod® compatible line of cardio equipment, the Elevation™ Series.

Located in the neighborhood of Itaim, the 3,500-square-foot store houses the company’s Brazilian showroom, which encourages customers to trial the equipment that is displayed. Boasting two levels, the store is decorated with the company’s new brand imagery.

“We are always looking for ways to reach customers in new and exciting ways,” said John Stransky, president of Life Fitness. “There is room for growth in the Brazilian market, and this store is expected to provide customers with a unique opportunity to try, and experience Life Fitness products first-hand.”

The Life Fitness store seeks to provide a deeper, more intimate approach to providing customers with facility and home layouts to help them visualize their fitness experiences. The design of the store is inviting and approachable, and the equipment is positioned to encourage customer use.

This move comes at a time when Life Fitness is introducing a leading line of both strength and cardiovascular equipment for the gym and home.

The new Elevation Series includes the latest tools in fitness technology including integrated LCD touch screens, iPod compatibility, a Virtual Trainer, Workout Landscape™ Perspectives and USB connectivity to create, store and track workout information.

Life Fitness products became available in Brazil in 1990, and in 1999 the company designated São Paulo as one of its subsidiaries.
