SCHILLER PARK, Ill., Jan. 25, 2011 – Now, exercisers can share fitness accomplishments and post workout updates with friends on Facebook, through the Life Fitness Virtual Trainer.

When a user uploads a workout to the Life Fitness Virtual Trainer, a “prompt” will appear to also post the update to that user’s Facebook wall, with a link for friends to view the details of the workout. By sharing their results, exercisers can receive motivation and encouragement from friends to help them achieve their health and fitness goals.

Compatible with the Life Fitness Elevation commercial products, and the Platinum Club Series and F1 Smart foldable treadmill for the home, the Life Fitness Virtual Trainer (www.virtualtrainer.lifefitness.com) is a free online tool that provides exercisers with a fun and easy way to create and share workouts, as well as track their progress. The training program also provides personal trainers with the ability to create customized programs for their clients.

“Sharing your workout progress is an important motivating factor in a successful fitness program,” said Bob Quast, vice president of brand management for Life Fitness. “Virtual Trainer Facebook compatibility is a fun way to tell friends that you’re meeting your goals and to show off your workout.”

In addition to creating their own workouts, exercisers can download the most popular fitness programs based on user favorites, such as “Fat Burn” or “Random,” in just one step.

Virtual Trainer users can also invite friends and family to be their “buddies”. Users provide email addresses of the people they would like to connect to as buddies. An email is then sent to that person with a request notification. Once the other user accepts the invite, buddies can create and share workout programs with each other. Members also have the capability to manage their buddies list.

Registration and access to the Life Fitness Virtual Trainer website is free for facilities, trainers and exercisers. Facilities can also download free console software upgrades from the facility registration site.
